Jonathan Ettlie, Brewing Ambassador for National Chemicals, Inc., was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, with a BA in Cognitive Neuroscience (’01).  In his spare time there, he became acquainted with professional cooking and home brewing.  After coming back home from college, he attended Milwaukee Area Technical College, earning an AAS in Culinary Arts (’04).  While spending the better part of a decade cooking in a top 50 restaurant called Sanford, Jonathan enjoyed bringing his home brew in to work for his fellow cooks to enjoy.

After hitting 30 years old, Jonathan moved out of the kitchen and took a position as one of the opening crew members of Northern Brewer Milwaukee.  He worked his way up to assistant store manager, and upon leaving in 2013, was the acting store manager.  In the Winter of 2014, Jonathan took a position with National Chemicals, Inc, to manage the Craft Meister brand for the home and professional brewing industries.

Jonathan has a daughter, Chloe, with his wife Heidi.  When he’s not working, he spends time with his family and two cats.  He occasionally gets time to brew a few times a year.  He enjoys good food, good company and good beverages.  And herding cats.
