Ted Hausotter started home brewing in May 1983. Since that time, he has brewed over 400 different batches almost 4,000 gallons of premium beer and mead! Many of the beers have won awards in home brew competitions. Some of the more notable awards are, first runner up homebrewer of the year at NHC and many Best of Shows awards. He has also won numerous national and international competitions.

Ted is currently a BJCP (Beer Judge Certification Program) Grand Master 4 Beer judge, past Northwest representative and past Assistant Director for the Continuing Education program. He has written several articles for Zymurgy on different home brewing subjects. In 2008 he started a small hop brokerage Hop Heaven serving homebrewers.
